Located on a beautiful Indian Ocean beach surrounded by the stunning bush of Saadani National Park, Simply Saadani Camp offers a peaceful retreat from which to explore Tanzania's only coastal wildlife reserve. Saadani is in the unique position of providing the opportunity to observe Africa's big game and bird life interacting with the sea. Foot safaris combining the bush and the beach, birdwatching by canoe on the Mafue salt water creek and game drives are all available from the lodge, whilst a boat safari on the Wami River can be organised as part of a full day game drive.
Simply Saadani Camp offers 10 rustic bandas and The Venus Suite for honeymooners. Three of the bandas can convert into family rooms and sleep up to 5, making this a perfect family getaway. The rooms each have a raised terrace set on a wooden platform and en-suite bathrooms to complete the experience. The camp is run entirely on solar power, so guests can enjoy the crashing of waves and the animal calls from their own decks. The honeymoon suite differs slightly as it's tucked into the mangroves on the beach for added privacy and romance.
The property provides guests with a restaurant that serves a variety of flavours with a focus on seafood dishes, a bar well stocked with wine and spirits and a variety of activities. Besides enjoying the perfect blend of a beach and safari just outside your front door, the lodge also offers guests the chance to witness the hatching of baby turtles from July to September time. The lodge has a genuine eco-friendly attitude with an interest in conservation. As such the lodge team run the Saadani Wildlife Research Centre, which guests are welcome to visit to learn a little more about the wildlife in the area.
