Found just outside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area within the 1500 acre, Shangri-La Estate, The Manor at Ngorongoro is reminiscent of an elegant, up country farm home in the Cape Dutch style of architecture. The property sports high ceilings, particularly in the main hall, which is split between a dining area and lounge.
There are a total of 20 cottage suites, all of which possess a beautiful fireplace and traditional Cape Dutch decor. Guests can enjoy the intimacy of their own private terrace and en-suite bathroom, which presents a 'rainfall' shower and an old Victorian styled claw footed bath. A stay at The Manor is made all the more comfortable with a jar of homemade cookies on the house and linen and towels changed daily. There is also a Stable Cottage, separate from the main house and ideal for families or a group of friends. With its own lounge and dining area, it is perfect for creating a warm and private atmosphere.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the facilities the hotel offers, including a spot of horse riding, and there is no better way to enjoy the surrounding coffee plantations than on horseback. Picnic lunches are on offer to guests during their ride. Dining is an elegant affair with sumptuous cuisine. Where guests choose to dine is up to their discretion, with a choice of enjoying meals at their cottage or in the dining room. For relaxing after a busy day's activities, the hotel steam room and sauna are most welcome.
A 2 hour 45 minute drive from Arusha or a 25 minute flight from Arusha to Manyara airstrip and then a 40 minute drive to the lodge.
Game drives and lunch in the Ngorongoro Crater, game drives in Lake Manyara National Park, horse riding and coffee plantation tour, massages and mountain biking.

Review of The Manor at Ngorongoro
Beautiful and serene, with a kind, friendly, and thoughtful staff! Special thanks to our butler Peter, who took great care to ensure our meals were special and that we had everything we needed.
The manor was the height of luxury on the trip. The proprietors, fellow guests, the staff and the manor itself were very accommodating and relaxing.
