The Highlands is a low-impact, yet high-style camp at the Ngorongoro Crater. The camp is carefully positioned for maximum privacy, high on the slopes of the Olmoti Crater with sweeping views all the way to the Serengeti. The design of the 8 canvas geodesic domed suites is drawn from the traditional Maasai bomas that dot the landscape. The camp is warm, intimate and contemporary, the perfect place from which to discover the wild and pristine Crater Highlands.
The camp is located 40 minutes from the nearest property and yet only 45 minutes to the Ngorongoro Crater floor, with no need to stop at the main gate. From camp you can hike up to the top of Olmoti for staggering views, or take a half-day trip to the soda lake in Empakaai Crater, where thousands of pink flamingos congregate. There's also the opportunity to interact with the local community, learning about Maasai culture.
