Relaxing, peaceful, Mihingo Lodge is adjacent to the Lake Mburo National Park; renowned for being the only place in Uganda where one might view zebra and impala. Additionally Lake Mburo has large numbers of waterbuck, buffalo, hippo, bushbuck and if you are lucky you will see oribi, reedbuck, leopard and crocodiles. The landscape is charming and the lodge's tented accommodation blends with it well. The camp's hot water and electricity is all powered by solar energy, a pleasing eco twist to this well-appointed property. The camp is a charming stop-over accommodation before moving on to experience gorilla trekking.
Guests can expect 10 tented rooms, all of which are spacious and provide en suite facilities. The bathrooms provide flush toilets, hot and cold water, showers and excellent views. The tents are built on raised wooden platforms and shielded under thatch roofs. Guests are afforded high levels of privacy, with the tents set well apart, ideal for couples or those just wishing to escape.
The camp provides a thatched dining area, below which is a large swimming pool, perfect for a cool dip on a warm day. For casual game viewing there is a waterhole below the pool, an easy way to enjoy good sightings.
Mihingo Lodge is located approximately 3.5 hours' drive from Kampala (to the national park).
Game drives, horseback safaris, boat trip on Lake Mburo, walking safaris and game walks.
