Guests of the exclusive and award-winning Semliki Safari Lodge are gifted with the entire Semliki Valley, all to themselves. This lodge is built in the grand old safari tradition with canvas tents under thatched roofs. Each room has a veranda with views of the mountains and savannah, forest and river valley. Surrounding them, guests have the Semliki Forest that houses an array of beautiful bird species. Also nearby are the Sempaya hotsprings, a natural lure for all visitors.
The Lodge is well appointed, with Persian carpets, four poster beds in tents and an inviting pool that looks out upon the Congo's magnificent Blue Mountains. Guests can expect 10 luxury tents, which pervade all the romance of safari and all of the comforts of home. The tents provide en suite bathrooms with flush toilets, hot showers and running water and a charming thatched roof overhead.
Stories of the day's adventures can be shared with other guests in the quaint and very comfortable main area. There are plenty of inviting sofas to relax and dining tables to enjoy the delicious cuisine the lodge serves up. Bread baked fresh every day and lovely homemade meals ensure a stay at Semliki is all the more special. Observing chimps in the area is a major attraction with the lodge helping to run the Semliki Chimpanzee Research Project.
Approximately 5 hour's drive from Kampala and 3 hour's drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park. 1 hour drive from Fort Portal or 1 hour flight from Entebbe into an airstrip near to the lodge.
Boat trips on Lake Albert, birding, guided walks, chimpanzee trekking, morning and evening game drives and visits to the local Batwa pygmy community.
