Secluded and beautiful the secretive Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp is found nestled deep within the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest which in itself impresses with a truly theatrical landscape - volcanoes, jagged valleys, waterfalls, lakes and dramatic mountain ranges. With an ideal location close to the starting point for the gorilla trekking experience place, the 10-tent camp is one of the most remote and atmospheric in Africa - certainly the most luxurious choice on offer in the park. Due to its unique location, it's not unusual for gorilla families to visit the camp itself.
Gorilla Forest Camp offers 10 tents with wooden floors and decking, comfortable beds and a full bathroom with a bathtub that looks out onto the forest. The camp has a bar and dining cottage overlooking the rainforest, as well as a raised natural platform for open-air dining. The cosy campfire is the gathering point in the evenings where you can sit around and enjoy Bwindi's crystal-clear mountain sky. There is also a small gift shop at the camp offering a variety of local artefacts and practical supplies as well as a mini spa. A visit to the camp allows guests to help preserve the rich heritage and support the local community. The camp supports multiple local charities, and the Bwindi Women Bike enterprise allows you to explore by bike while supporting a worthwhile cause.
