Discover Murchison River Lodge

Murchison River Lodge is an inviting family-owned property that rests on the banks of the River Nile. With Murchison Falls National Park, the largest National Park the country has to offer, there is a great depth of wildlife and birdlife populating the surrounding area. You can expect giant Nile crocodiles and hippos rising above the water, the Big 5 and 451 bird species to discover. The chance to witness the Nile bursting through a 6-metre gap and falling 141ft is on offer as well, in the form of Murchison Falls.

At the lodge, you can relax in the restaurant and bar and take in the excellent panoramas as well as enjoy the delicious meals served. The small lodge pool is quite inviting and ideal for cooling off, for safety, there is a steel fence around the pool, useful for keeping hippos, who may be tempted to take a dip, at bay. Accommodation includes thatched cottages and A-frame safari tents. There are no fans or air conditioning in the rooms, lighting is solar powered and furnishings are quite simple.
