The Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah is located approximately 50 minutes from Dubai. Whilst close enough to enjoy day trips to the city, this multi-award winning luxury resort is for those looking for something a little more removed. The hotel itself, is inspired by the palaces of the Arabian Peninsula and is lined by a 350-metre private white sand beach.
There are 349 rooms and suites offering panoramic views of the coastline, the resort's 18-hole championship golf course and the impressive Al Hajar Mountains on the horizon. Room sizes range from 72 to 170 square metres, each with a separate shower and bathtub, minibar, MP3 player, HD plasma television, electronic guestroom safe and high speed/WIFI internet.
During your stay, you can enjoy the Persian Gulf through a variety of water sport activities, swim in the resort's temperature-controlled swimming pools or take in a game of tennis. The resort is also home to a luxury spa, fitness centre and kids' club.
Guests have an abundance of choice when it comes to dining. Nine restaurants offer anything from sushi plates to juicy steaks and an array of Middle Eastern dishes. After sundown head to 17Squared for your evening cocktail.
The legendary Waldorf service is evident throughout the hotel, not least of all the Private Concierge Service. The Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah was even recognised by TripAdvisor, winning its 2016 Traveller's Choice award.
Approximately 50 minutes' drive from Dubai Airport depending on traffic. A seaplane or helicopter transfer can be arranged on request.
Aside from the in-resort water sports activities and tennis, guests can also go sailing on a traditional dhow to the beautiful Musandam Peninsula or partake in a desert or mountain safari by air-conditioned vehicle or helicopter, with views of the sunset on the dunes and the summer house of the Royal Family atop the mountains. Beautiful hotel with spacious grounds. Rooms most luxurious and housekeeping excellent. Only ate in the buffet as on half board but always plentiful and varied.
The hotel, beach, accommodation, staff were all fantastic. The pool space was super clean and the steak, Japanese, Arabic and poolside restaurants were all very, very good. Our only complaint was the breakfast buffet which was really not very nice, so most days we just skipped breakfast ate by the pool instead.
