There are certain experiences that are perfectly suited to a honeymoon itinerary, and a hot-air balloon safari is one of them.
Watching the sun rise over the Mara or Serengeti from the air gives you a wide-angle view of the rivers and plains that make up these unique ecosystems. This change in perspective allows you to watch wildlife from above and gives you a deeper understanding of the landscape that is hard to grasp at ground level. For couples on honeymoon, the early morning light and shared quiet is the perfect start to the day.

Where Balloon Safaris Work Best
Ballooning is most established in East Africa, particularly in the Maasai Mara in Kenya and in the Serengeti in Tanzania.

In the Maasai Mara, flights often drift above river systems and open grassland. It is incredibly beautiful and you can usually spot wildlife moving between woodland and water. During migration season, herds can sometimes be seen from the air, depending on location and timing.
In the Serengeti, the sense of scale is broader. Seasonal camps shift with wildlife movement, and balloon routes vary accordingly. You can expect to see for miles across the open plains.
