Brunton Boatyard

The Brunton Boatyard Hotel is a 5-star heritage hotel at Fort Kochi. It sits on a historic plot of land that once housed a famous British colonial boatyard. Set on the shores of the Arabian Sea and minutes away from the heart of Fort Kochi, it is perfectly placed for exploring the town’s historical attractions. The hotel is known for its stately grandeur, distinguished décor and excellent eateries.

In the style of a colonial-era palace, the hotel blends British, Portuguese and Dutch architectural influences. The hotel features high ceilings, hanging fans and a plethora of artifacts and curios from a great mercantile age known for its pomp and glamour. Some rooms have sea views, some quaint views of the pier and sea, and others of Fort Kochi town. The décor is a subtle marriage of old and new with four-poster beds and teak furniture. There are 3 restaurants at the hotel, The Armoury, a resto-bar overlooking the harbor, The Terrace Grill (open in high season) and The History, which has a choice of dishes reflecting the cultural heritage of Fort Kochi – including Portuguese, Dutch, British, Arab and Jewish offerings. Breakfasts can be classic English or South Indian fare. Facilities include a large pool facing the sea, a fitness center and a spa. Armed with a map and some comfortable footwear, you can tour the historic Fort Kochi area where the hotel stands. Sadly, little remains of the fort itself, but the other legacies of history are everywhere. The hotel also offers sunset cruises around Cochin Harbor from a private jetty.
