The perfect base from which to explore the UNESCO heritage site of Hampi, Kamalapura Palace is a palatial resort which channels the days of the 14th-century Vijayanagara Empire. With stunning rugged forests and boulders forming its backdrop, the hotel’s suites are all spacious, opulent and exquisitely designed, some with private balconies, terraces and Jacuzzis. Expert-led daily excursions take you on a journey to explore the historic ruins.

The hotel design is inspired by the Vijayanagara architecture of nearby Hampi. Inspired by the palaces within the Zenana enclosure, the suites are the last word in luxury. There are 4 categories of suite rooms with the most luxurious being the Zenana, but whichever suite you opt for, you will find the space plentiful. All rooms have either a whirlpool tub or outdoor pool, while interiors feature tiled floors, rich fabrics and chunky wooden furniture with brass trimmings.  For dining, there’s Tuluva, a multi-cuisine restaurant over-looking the infinity pool and The Bahmani specialty restaurant which offers a fusion of Persian and indigenous influences. There’s always the option too of an exclusive dinner crafted just for you at your private pool or in a Mantapa overlooking the lotus pond. As far as facilities go, there’s an adult infinity pool, family pool, a reading lounge and an Ayruveda Spa. Aside from trips to Hampi there are picturesque walking trails in the surrounds of the palace which show ruined temples and statues and provide a glimpse into the life and times of the Rayas (Maharajas) of Vijayanagara.
