Six Senses Fort Barwara is a palatial restoration of a 14th-century stronghold, originally owned by a Rajasthani Royal Family, backdropped by the Aravalli hills. This historic fort incorporates 2 palaces and 2 temples and enjoys a sensational view of the lake. It’s a luxurious base for spa and meditation sessions, mountain-bound adventures, tiger safaris in Ranthambore National Park and bazaar shopping in Jaipur.

The hotel itself offers a gracious and regal ambiance behind its sandstone ramparts with brass-accented suites, a sleek swimming pool and Ayurvedic spa. There are 48 suites ranging in size and designed in contemporary Rajasthani style, reinterpreting the fort’s rich history. Some include hot tub and private pools. There’s a host of dining options at Six Senses Fort Barwara. The restaurants combine the best of regional Rajasthani and pan-Indian cuisine with a sprinkling of international influences, all whilst using local, fresh and seasonal produce. Unique experiences on offer include sunset drives in vintage Land rovers through the countryside, sundowners at the lake, heritage and rewilding walks, picnics by the Banos River and ceremonial worship evenings at the fort’s Temple Puja.
