This Rwanda family vacation seamlessly combines a gorilla tracking experience in Volcanoes National Park with a traditional safari in the beautiful Akagera National Park, all whilst staying in 2 of Rwanda's most luxurious lodges. This trip is specifically designed with families of teens over the age of 15 years, in order to allow the children to participate in the gorilla trekking. At Magashi Camp at Akagera enjoy day and night game drives, walking safaris, fishing, birding and boating in some of the most scenic savannah in East Africa comprising of woodlands, open plains, lakes, grassy low mountains and swampland.
The area is home to one of Africa's highest hippo densities, some very large crocodiles, and the secretive sitatunga and shoebill stork. By contrast, Volcanoes National Park, protects the steep rainforested slopes of the magnificent Virungas mountain range. Here you will stay at the luxury, eco-lodge, Bisate, in a Forest Villa with outstanding views. The lodge is within easy driving distance of Volcanoes National Park headquarters from where you will depart on your memorable gorilla trek.
