First to one of Kenya’s best preserved highland forest ecosystems, Matthews Mountain Range, staying at Kitich Camp. Spend your time relaxing in hammocks, hiking through the forest, fly camping, exploring the Milgis Lugga by camel, swimming in a waterfall, cycling through the valleys, and doing yoga. The forest provides a haven for more than 350 bird species and 150 species of butterfly. Next, you will fly by light aircraft to Kenya’s most famous attraction, the Maasai Mara Reserve. At Kicheche Bush Camp you will be in a private conservancy area bordering the reserve, offering the same high quality African safari but with less vehicles. It is the ideal location to witness the annual wildebeest migration in season and an abundance of other animals out of season including lion, elephant, leopard, cheetah, and buffalo. The camp offers daily game drives and guided walks. After the thrill of dusty game drives and early starts, you can then luxuriate on the unspoilt, idyllic Manda Island in the Lamu archipelago on Kenya’s coast. It’s the type of lodge where you can switch off, kick off your shoes and enjoy simplistic beauty in palm thatched cottages. The lodge offers activities such as visits to Lamu Old Town, fishing, snorkelling, cultural visits to the ruins of a Swahili settlement, bird watching, watersports, nature drives and sailing on dhows.
