The journey truly begins whilst en route to Kandy with a stop at the Elephant Freedom Project, offering the children meaningful interactions with rescued captive elephants. Become true culture vultures in Kandy as you explore this sacred city on a private city tour stopping at the Royal Botanical Garden of Peradeniya. The Temple of the Tooth will be a highlight. Located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, the temple houses the relic of the tooth the Buddha. A stay at Kings Pavilion will offer solace after the busy days sightseeing. Next the family will board a vintage train for a scenic ride through the island’s picturesque Tea Country, staying at Ceylon Tea Trails. Discover the intricate art of making tea, venture on walks and bike rides through the lakes, and mountains, go kayaking or play a fun game of tennis. The final stop will be a beach stay at Cape Weligama, a luxury clifftop resort with panoramic views, located just a few miles from Weligama in southern Sri Lanka.
