Rwanda Safari and Gorillas is a trip combining a traditional safari in Rwanda's Akagera National Park with a chance to see the mountain gorillas of Volcanoes National Park.
Following a night in the capital Kigali which includes a city tour, you will journey to Akagera where your stay will include day and night game drives, fishing, birding and boating in some of the most scenic savannah in East Africa. Magashi Camp is set on the shores of Lake Rwanyakazinga which is home to one of Africa's highest hippo densities, some very large crocodiles, and the secretive sitatunga and shoebill stork. By contrast, Volcanoes National Park, protects the steep rainforested slopes of the magnificent Virungas mountain range. You will stay at Virunga Lodge with its dramatic views overlooking the Virunga Volcanoes and experience a life changing encounter with Rwanda’s mountain gorillas.
