Founded by Richard and Tara Bonham, in partnership with renowned filmmakers and conservationists, Dereck and Beverly Joubert, the lodge is a flagship for conservation in the area, with tourism to Ol Donyo directly benefiting the local communities. It is here that some of Africa's last giant elephant bulls roam freely, the haunting calls of leopards interrupt the night, and, thanks to conservation efforts, lions are being pulled back from the brink of extinction.
Ol Donyo Lodge blends contemporary design with rich Maasai culture. Each suite is individually styled and decorated, with its own plunge pool and views across the rolling plains to the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro. For added magic, each suite also boasts its own roof terrace where private "star beds" allow you to experience the thrill of sleeping in style under a canopy of endless stars. The lodge also offers a notable variety of activities, including horse riding, bush walks, mountain biking, and visits to nearby villages, whilst children will be very well looked after through the Young Explorers program.

This property will stick in our memory forever. Savannah, Grahm, Joshua, and Sike, truly made this stay incredible. The food was AMAZING. The dining locations were amazing. The watering hole with the blinds you could walk down to was our favorite! I will 100% return to this property.
