Angama Mara is a luxury lodge located high above the floor of Africa's Great Rift Valley, overlooking Kenya's wildlife-rich Maasai Mara. 'Angama' means 'suspended in mid-air' in the local Swahili dialect, and all 30 tented suites are positioned with seemingly endless views over the escarpment, making it easy to see where the moniker was derived.
The tented suites each have 11 meter, floor to ceiling glass facades offering magnificent views without leaving your bed, while the three remaining sides and roof are traditional safari olive and cream canvas for privacy. Each of the two separate fifteen tent camps have their own guest area, kitchen and dedicated staff. As with the suites the guest areas hang over the rift Valley edge and are perfect for dining or enjoying a sundowner on the terrace. Set between the camps you'll find the infinity-edged swimming pool, fitness suite and safari shop. Holiday to Angama Mara
Wonderful location on a ridge, and the lodge has a real African feel. The staff were super. Long drives were required to reach decent viewing sites. The area, to a degree, lacked in animal varieties. We had been informed that Wildebeests would be calving but had already left for the Serengeti. None…
Beautiful property, with great views and very friendly staff. Personally, I found that it was a good contrast to Cottars. If I had only one choice between the two I would choose Angama just because of the location and I saw more animals there.
