Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Grace’s love for travel began early—as a child, she enjoyed adventures to Lake Kariba, and the mystical Chinhoyi Caves. Later, her family swapped the African bush for the British countryside, but her roots remained strong. She still proudly speaks Ndebele, her mother tongue. Now, she and her husband are based on the Emerald Isle, where she blends a little African warmth with Irish hospitality. Driven by a passion for connecting people to the places she holds dear, Grace pursued a degree in Tourism and Business at London South Bank University. Her career began guiding cultural tours through Turkey, but it was always Africa that had her heart. Over the years, she’s worked to shine a spotlight on the continent’s boutique gems—particularly those in her homeland—helping others discover the unique magic found only in Africa. At Mahlatini, she brings her knowledge, intuition, and heartfelt enthusiasm to every itinerary, ensuring each journey is as enriching and unforgettable as the last.

Most Memorable Trip

Our honeymoon to South Africa was my most memorable adventure. We began in Cape Town, taking in everything from Table Mountain and Kirstenbosch Gardens to Cape Point and the vineyards of Stellenbosch. From there, we flew to Johannesburg and road-tripped part of the Panorama Route—stopping at God’s Window, Blyde River Canyon and Pilgrims Rest—before going on safari in the far north of Kruger. Wild, remote and wonderfully unplugged, it was the ultimate digital detox and a complete spoil!

Top of My Bucket List

Having grown up in Zimbabwe, I never quite realised how much beauty was on my doorstep until I moved away. Mana Pools, Victoria Falls, Gonarezhou, Hwange, and the Eastern Highlands are all high on my list. I’d also love to explore Botswana, where my grandmother’s family is from. I’ve heard the elephants in Chobe are the biggest! Kenya is up there too—watching the Great Migration in real life after years of Attenborough documentaries would be a complete and utter dream.

There’s something incredibly special about turning a childhood dream into reality. Being able to help others discover and experience the magic of my ancestral homeland brings me immense joy. Guiding travelers as they create unforgettable memories in a place so close to my heart makes my work deeply rewarding and meaningful.
