Natasha Morris

Natasha's parents relocated from Zimbabwe and she grew up in the sleepy hollow city of Port Elizabeth, now known as Gqeberha, in South Africa. Natasha studied International Hotel & Wine Estate Management which afforded her working experiences throughout South Africa, Namibia and further into the United States. A slight change in direction eventually led to her return to Cape Town to focus on inbound tourism to the gorgeous African continent.

Craving a change in scenery, Natasha followed her heart and relocated, now working from Mahlatini's Netherlands office.

MOST MEMORABLE TRIP

Experiencing the Great Migration crossing the Mara River in Northern Serengeti must be one of the most incredible experiences to date. The strategy of waiting with everlasting patience till the first wildebeest dares enter the water, followed by the chaos of the herds racing through and avoiding the many obstacles of crocodiles, hippos, and slippery rocks. The loud, repetitive grunting of thousands of exhausted wildebeest and zebra who made it to the other side… heavenly!

TOP OF MY BUCKET-LIST

I can definitely envision a beach break in the Maldives in my future. The idea of waking up in a villa with little to no communication, snorkeling in the warm waters while absorbing Vitamin D, cocktails, books, and maybe a full body massage for a few days... bliss.

Favourite Safari Animal

"Definitely a tie between a pack of wild dog and a young den of hyena. The way these animals interact within the pack, respect the hierarchy and still have the pizazz to play and test the boundaries with their playful nature is amazing to observe. Cheeky, misperceived creatures!"

Sundowner Of Choice

"A classic East African Dawa cocktail. Sharp and sweet all-at-once, this boozy beverage is made from honey, lime, sugar, ice and vodka. Finished off with a 'dawa' or honey stick."

Favourite Property

"The Asilia Highlands. The unique dome suites with spa-like bathroom facilities and indoor fireplaces are something completely different from regular accommodations. The range of additional activities in the area make the stay even more exciting, such as a visit to the local Maasai Village."

TOP TRAVEL TIP

Ensuring I have multiple layers of clothing so I can adjust to any environment or change in weather is very important. Subsequently I also never travel without a “dirty clothes” bag in my main luggage to help maintain the clean items and a spare set of intimates and a t-shirt in my hand luggage.
