Etendeka Mountain Camp is found in northern Damaraland on the lower slopes of the Grootberg massif. Set into the vast rocky landscape of basalt mountains you'll find 10 Meru-style tents. Interiors are small but comfortable, with beds providing a good sleep. Tents are en-suite and feature flush toilets, an open-air bucket shower and hot and cold running water. Solar power is used throughout the camp and adds to the authentic aesthetic you'll find at Etendeka.
Pathways lead from the tents to the main dining area; here you can enjoy tasty meals freshly prepared over an open fire or one that is solar-powered. The camp, while simple, draws appeal from its intimate size and the solitude it affords amidst dramatic scenery. The surrounding area is incredibly explorable, with the chance to enjoy both walking excursions and game drives in open vehicles. This is a unique landscape and as such it's home to unique and wonderful wildlife: there's the chance to see desert elephant, oryx and even rare black rhino.
