Ideally situated for those wishing to stay close to Fish River Canyon; Canyon Roadhouse is an interesting accommodation option with a very distinctive restaurant that is a shrine to automobiles of old. The Roadhouse is only 14km away from the gate that leads to the Fish River Canyons view points, a short distance to travel for magnificent views.

The 22 rooms are simply but comfortable and all provide en-suite facilities, with a shower and flush toilet. For those not used to the Namibian heat the cool rooms with accompanying fan and air conditioning will be most welcome. The rooms are built around small courtyards that boast a variety of desert foliage. The restaurant's unusual decor is a great reason to stay here, with a variety of old trucks cars and cars adorning the room, creating a time warp with its distinctive character. Guests can also make use of the pool and camping sites, providing time to relax and drink in the unique wildlife and flora. For a quick round-up of the area's ecology and general information on the history of Fish River Canyon there is an Information Centre on offer and for guests who are may choose to explore the area via their own vehicle there is a petrol station to top up on fuel.
