Countries Visited
South Africa
“South Africa is a wonderful country - rich and diverse. There is however extreme poverty in some parts of the country which is quite sad. We also had a sense that crime was a problem due to the security measures used on houses and businesses. We never felt unsafe however although we were careful. The people were generally very friendly and helpful.”
Botswana
“Botswana is a vast country and we only saw a very small part of it and that was within the touristic jewel. The people we met were delightful and our experience was extremely positive.”
Accommodation Visited
“This hotel is perfectly adequate for a stopover. It is a little shabby in parts but very comfortable.”
Chobe Under Canvas
“This was perhaps the the most unexpected and challenging camp that we stayed in but we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff led by Igobe went out of their way to make us comfortable and we adapted well to no electricity or connectivity. It was a great start to our safari experience. We had an excellent guide in Innocent and a great programme. All things considered we survived very well for two nights without even a hairdryer or mirror. Great fun!”
Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp
“This camp was quite luxurious after Chobe under Canvas. The attention to detail was amazing and again the staff went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. Our guide AK was very knowledgable and we had some very interesting and exciting game drives. Our butler, whose name escapes me at present, was superb and looked after our every need”

“This was undoubtedly the most luxurious of the three camps and we had a wonderful time here. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and our butler TT ensured that we wanted for nothing. Game drives were superb with Molima and Pro and their knowledge and enthusiasm was incredible. It was for us the experience of a lifetime.”
Vineyard Hotel & Spa
“The Vineyard is a very comfortable hotel and a great base from which to see Cape Town. It is perhaps a little outside the central areas but for us this was a positive. We would stay there again if visiting Cape Town.”
“This Guest House was a great find. The rooms all have wonderful views and great balconies. Breakfasts were excellent and the service was to a very high standard. It is not far from the centre of Hermanus and there are pleasant walks. Getting taxis was also very easy.”
