Honeymoon to Kenya
Jenica Blake, 14th January 2021Our honeymoon was the trip of a lifetime! It was beyond our expectations, and we will remember this amazing trip forever. Traveling during the pandemic was interesting, and we had some last minute changes, but we also had some amazing upgrades and experiences that we would not have had otherwise. For example, we were upgraded to an exclusive safari camp with only nine tents, and we ended up with a private driver for most of our game drives, both of which really enhanced our experience. We got to see some very exciting things in the bush, such as a cheetah catching his impala breakfast, a lion cub climbing a tree to look for his mom, and an eagle defend and fly off with his jackal meal. Our pictures from this trip are incredible! All of our friends and family were jealous.

“Kenya is an amazing country! Since we had a private safari driver, we really got to know him over the course of 4 days. He taught us all about the Masai Mara, Masai people, animals and their behavior, medicinal plants, and life in the area. Kenyans are very welcoming people, and we had great experiences with them.”

“Hemingways is a beautiful hotel! I wish we had one more day there to take more advantage of the property, such as more time at the pool and the chance to go on the walking path. The staff and food were both very good. I was very pleased with our room.”
Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp
“We were upgraded to the Bateleur Camp at the last minute, which was completely amazing. This was the nicest place we have ever stayed. The chef made the best vegetarian food for me, even better than I could have imagined myself. Our tent had an incredible view of the Masai Mara. Our housekeeper left surprises for us in our room, such as champagne, flowers, and hot bubble baths after our game drives. The entire staff was excellent. We actually cried when we had to leave here.”
“AfroChic is a very nice hotel. Our room was fairly simple, but had a nice balcony with an ocean view. The grounds are beautiful, and we had a relaxing time in the various lounge beds by the beach and the pool. The staff and food were both very good. The manager was helpful in arranging drivers and booking excursions for us. The beach boys at the beach were fairly aggressive, however, and did not leave you alone after you would politely say that you were not interested. They would continue to follow you until you left the beach. There was a security guard, but he only made sure that they did not come onto the property. This really discouraged us from wanting to go onto the beach. There is a nice older man named Roger who makes wooden animal figures and sits by the property without bothering anyone. We bought 5 souvenirs from him because he did not bother us and his work was very good.”
