Holiday to Kenya & Seychelles
Bernhard Bienz, 6th January 2022The whole trip remains unforgettable. Especially the trip to the Masai Mara Animal Park, but also the city of Nairobi really appealed to us. More about this in the next chapter.

Kenya
“The encounter with the animals right in front of us touched us deeply. We were even able to encounter lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos etc. directly from close to camp. The animals approached our vehicle and there was no danger at any time.
Il Moran Governers Camp is situated directly on a river, and the beautifully furnished tented rooms allowed us to watch or hear the hippos. The tents were divided into a sleeping section and bathrooms. The showers gave almost no water, there must have been no water pump.
The city of Nairobi could only be visited briefly. The luxurious Hotel Hemingway is probably one of the best accommodations in Kenya. A true dream. The restaurant visit at the Talisman also remains unforgettable.
The Kenyans are extremely friendly and very helpful. We would like to visit this country again in the near future.”
Seychelles
“We only visited the island of Mahe. The nature with the beaches is beautiful. After Kenya, we rather had the impression that the inhabitants do not particularly appreciate tourists. The friendliness but also their helpfulness left a lot to be desired.
We found the cost of living even for local products exorbitant.”

“- Hotel very beautifully situated.
- Local staff not really friendly, but the foreigners (Sri Lankans, Nepalese, Mauritians etc.) are the more cordial.
- Rooms ok, but many stains on wooden tables, air conditioner often over-strained and let water drip.
- Furnishing and decoration of the restaurant very minimalist.
- Food very expensive and not very imaginative (no tuna fish, although Seychelles is the biggest exporter of tuna fish).
- No shuttle service to Victoria or other beaches.
- Extremely expensive PCR test.
Well, our choice of the hotel perhaps but destination was perhaps not right.”

“In Kenya, the entire staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. In the Seychelles, I was disappointed by the rather cold reception of the staff. Noira tried to sell me a very expensive boat trip in a hurry, although some locals advised me not to go to Curieuse Island because of the high waves.
Today we would no longer visit two countries at once. Precisely because of all the testing, filling out online forms, etc., I recommend that travellers plan for only one destination. Also, the counsellors should take a more active role in organising the tests. We received PCR results with wrong data three times, and the local supervisor just said "oh, that's too bad". Nobody wants to talk about the fact that we lost more than 4 hours of time on the phone, sending emails, etc. Not an easy job for a traveller.....
Sorry to say today: Seychelles has been seen. Never again! Kenya top, very soon again.
Now Caroline from Mahlatini staff organized the whole trip and supported us wherever she could. She is a real experienced travel agent. My next trip will be surely organized again with Mahlatini.”
