Honeymoon to South Africa
Ben Gumsley, 21st January 2022We were incredibly lucky to be chosen as the Healthcare Heroes winners and were gifted this once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon to Cape Town, Franschhoek and Kruger National Park. We felt like we were living in a dream the whole time. The places we visited, the people we met and the memories we made along the way will always stay with us and be stories to tell for generations to come!

The staff were very attentive and the butler John did everything he could to make our stay comfortable and was great to chat to and learn about his culture.”

“The Last Word Franschhoek is in a great location for exploring the winelands! Just a short walk out of the gates leads you to all of the boutique shops and restaurants and easy access to the Wine Tram which is an essential must do activity! The hotel itself was very comfortable and the pool area and sun deck were very relaxing for a lazy afternoon.”

“Right in the heart of the African bush - the most beautiful location. Incredible scenery right outside your room - at one with nature and the animals. We had elephants walking right outside our outside shower and a wealth of wildlife that you could watch from the infinity pool! The food was delicious and there was so much variety, each meal was different. The staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. They were all very knowledgable about the area and the animals. The game drives were incredible! We went out twice a day and saw things you only ever hear about or see on documentaries. We saw leopards, prides of lions and cubs, and had a beautiful moment having an evening picnic with a G&T looking over the bush.”

“Nicki had a wealth of knowledge about South Africa and our hotels. She constructed a perfect personalised itinerary for us that was built around things that we like to do. She even came to visit us during our stay which just showed how caring and compassionate she was! Even though our holiday plans were rearranged so many times due to international travel rules due to the pandemic, she stayed positive and it was never too much trouble. I would (and already have!) recommend Mahlatini and The Last Word hotels to anyone wanting a very special personalised holiday. Thank you so much to everyone involved in organising our trip!
