Honeymoon to South Africa & Mozambique
Sydney Jones, 12th April 2022Our honeymoon was everything we dreamed of... a perfect balance of adventure, beauty and relaxation. It was a long journey to Africa but absolutely worth it, especially with the help of Mahlatini and Caroline, who planned a phenomenal itinerary that included Cape Town, wine country, safari and a beach stay.

We couldn't recommend visiting this exquisite country enough!”
Mozambique
“Getting from Vilanculos to andbeyond was easier than we imagined, thanks in large part to the andbeyond staff. The line for the visa at the Vilanculos airport was quite long and took a lot of time, but we understand that was beyond our control. Otherwise, while we didn't have a chance to explore Mozambique, we absolutely loved our stay on Benguerra Island (see below).”

“The staff at One & Only were incredibly helpful. We really enjoyed afternoon tea (and the staff made an exception even though we arrived past the typical offering.) The concierge in particular were helpful in planning our days and coming up with contingency plans when weather got in the way. The location of the hotel was unbeatable. We also really enjoyed breakfast on the balcony!”
Leeu Estates
“This property was absolutely breathtaking!! The room was beautiful, yet cozy and intimate. We truly enjoyed our time each morning at breakfast overlooking the estate. The breakfast selection was phenomenal. The staff was very friendly and always helpful. They arranged transportation for us and several reservations, both before and during our stay, and always attentive to our every desire and need. We also enjoyed our time at the pool and sauna at the spa.”
Chitwa Chitwa Private Game Lodge
“The staff, from management to the tracker and guide, and wait staff were phenomenal. Everyone was very attentive without being intrusive. We really enjoyed getting to know both our guide Dylan and tracker Randsan as well as our head waiter Johan. They made us feel at home. The chef was also amazing. We loved every dish he made (especially the family style barbecue) and enjoyed talking with him about his experience and culinary journey. The room was beautiful. We loved trying to spot animals from our deck and even saw hippos and kudu!”
Benguerra Island Lodge
“We did not know what to expect heading into the last leg of our journey in Benguerra but we were truly blown away! The resort is amazing. You feel like you're alone on a private island. Every sunset was different than the last and something we looked forward to everyday. The managers (especially Zane) and staff at andbeyond were excellent. Our butler Jose attended to our every need and very quickly picked up on our likes and dislikes, tailoring every meal, drink and greeting accordingly. He was attentive without being intrusive and was a huge part of the reason why we loved our stay at andbeyond! Renoir and the rest of the dive team were simply the best; patient, thorough and helpful. My husband was able to go on three dives one-on-one with the head instructor and saw so many animals (sharks, turtles), fish and reef. We also loved snorkeling! One of our favorite excursions was the community drive where Alex and Jaime (both native to the island) showed us the island, including some hidden and simply beautiful gems! Our room was beautiful and comfortable, and we loved waking up to the sound of the ocean each morning and enjoying every meal by the pool or beach. We didn't expect so many meals during our beach vacation, but couldn't resist in indulging as every dish was remarkable.”

“We cannot recommend Caroline enough. She was incredibly patient with us as we planned our honeymoon itinerary, and worked closely with us for months to make sure every day was exactly how we wanted it. She was understanding and flexible, as well as organized and efficient. The website itineraries she put together made it easy for us to understand and compare options, and gave us a chance to actually envision what our travels and journey would look like. Caroline also provided recommendations for preparing for our trip and what to expect while we were away. Our pre-departure call was very helpful, as Caroline walked us through every step of the trip, and had clearly thought through every little detail. We only had to look at the itinerary to see when to wake up but otherwise, Caroline had everything organized and arranged. This allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our honeymoon. We experienced some hiccups during our trip (completely out of everyone's control) and Caroline worked around the clock to make sure everything worked out while assuring us that we had nothing to worry about and should continue to enjoy our honeymoon. Simply put, we were in the best of hands and could count on Caroline for anything. We highly recommend Mahlatini and Caroline and hope to work with both again very soon!”
