“Our favourite destination. We just regret we didn't stay another night. The children were actually a bit sad to leave, they'd become so attached to our lovely guides 'MD' and Vincent and to the camp manager Grant. But I could list so many of the staff at this camp who made our stay a memory of a lifetime. It was the way the made the stay so bespoke - our children could wander into the kitchen to look at the food being prepared and choose what they wanted and they could wander round the camp with ease. It was a dreamy sort of place in the wilderness where ironically as an urban family we've never felt so at home and welcome. Favourite memory: lunch by the hippo pool.”

“It was short and sweet. Two nights was probably the right stay. The swimming pools were great, the thundering Indian Ocean and beach quite dreamy.”

“For a budget family camp Rocktail ticked the box. The rooms were comfortable and the food very good. The manager - Andrew was friendly and very helpful. The location and beaches unbeatable, rarely do you have such magnificent beaches to yourself. But if I have one criticism it was the activities. They hadn't been thought through enough with children in mind and given that we were on one night the only guests staying I felt the activities manager could have worked a tad harder to explain what was on offer and give advice on what he thought would suit us. For instance, on the first day it was mentioned briefly that boarding on the sand dunes was a fun thing to do with children. No more was said. Then on our last afternoon we came across said sand dunes down the beach. They were awesome and we realised this was an opportunity missed! Also we spent one morning on the Ocean safari looking for whales and dolphins. There was a boat full of people and our guide obviously had her hands full. When you take a youngish child - 9 years old, out on one of these trips, they need a bit of help getting mask and flippers on, if your guide is coping with 9 visitors they can't do this. We went horse riding, but to be honest this was a bit of a non event. On the activities board it mentioned playing football, when I asked the activities manager about it he laughed and pointed at my two and said they could play against each other as there were no other kids at the camp. Snorkeling and rock pooling worked well though and we promised to return in turtle season!”

“It's somewhere we would return. The safaris were exceptional, the guides knew their stuff and worked hard to share their passion and enthusiasm. They so wanted you to experience the full potential of the game reserve. Again, we regret we didn't stay another night, just to hang out in such a lovely location. Again, like Xaranna it was the &beyond staff that made our stay - they especially worked hard with the children and anticipated every detail.”
