vacation to Tanzania
Warner Smith, 18th June 2022We didn't know exactly what we should do during our two week trip to Tanzania but the itinerary generated looked exciting. We have just returned and couldn't be happier. We did the perfect amount of safari, game driving and relaxation in Zanzibar. We asked for maximum game driving time and ended up with 6 days - one at Lake Manyara, one at the Ngorongoro Crater and 4 in the Northern Serengeti. After having done the trip, we might have preferred 2 in middle Serengeti and 2 in the Northern Serengeti just for more variety but our driver, Frank, was able to make the four days each different and was able to spot a black rhino so we feel very lucky with the amount of wildlife we saw. The accommodations recommended for us exceeded our expectations.

“Beautiful rooms and dining experience. We stayed in a plantation suite and a plantation room. The suite was slightly larger and could accommodate an extra bed (but the room was also quite large itself). The breakfast was delicious and the staff was wonderful.”

“Beautiful grounds! Amazing farm-to-table food for all meals. The dinner was a 5 course tasting menu that had vegetarian options for each course. Dinner was more adventurous than one of our kids would have preferred but there was also a kids' menu. There were so many activities that the property offered, we had a game drive planned to the Crater so weren't able to do many of these but we did go for a run with one of the staff members down into Karatu. The wifi was spotty at best but this wasn't something we needed during our trip.”

“Amazing staff and food! Picnic lunches were huge. Views of the horizon from our front deck were stunning! Staff played soccer two afternoons with my son - and seemed to genuinely enjoy it. Bucket showers sounded scary at first but our tent helper made sure they were warm and always made them available when we wanted.”

“True luxury! Gorgeous, huge room! Delicious food including a Swahili buffet. Most dinners were a fixed menu but there was always a vegetarian option and kids' menus. The staff was incredibly accommodating and always willing to help. They arranged a day trip to Stone Town, which ended up being 2 hours longer than expected (with no change in cost); we learned so much about the history of Zanzibar and got to experience daily market life.”
