Denise Poonoosamy, 18th July 2022We had a holiday of a lifetime, from beginning to end. So much thought went into tailoring our amazing trip. Such a difficult time to travel with airline and airport issues, but Caroline took all the stress away from these issues and micro-managed every aspect of our trip to give us a trip of a lifetime. A special mention to the Asilia staff in Kenya they greeted us and made us feel so welcome and negotiated with airport staff to get us on a short queue for passport checks, just made us feel we were being well looked after from the word go, really gave us such confidence about every aspect of our trip being overseen.

“So much to say about this amazing experience, and definitely not enough stars above to give!!!!
The accommodation was just gorgeous, we had the most beautiful hostess Merci who was just a joy to deal with. Merci and her team were all over every detail of our stay and missed nothing, I would swear they were mind readers. They took such pride in the service they provided us and just were so warm and open-hearted in all their interactions with us. Loved our rooms and the bucket showers (priceless). All the special touches, hot water bottles in our beautifully turned down beds every night and of course our cheery wake-up calls every morning.
Our meals were amazing, I couldn't believe the standard of gluten-free food they prepare for me. The setting for our meals was breathtaking, every evening, beautiful campfires when we returned with pre-dinner drinks and beautiful meals served by candlelight every evening, a perfect ending to the most amazing days spent on safari.
We were blessed with our amazing guy Nickson, we spent so much time with him, from greeting us on landing to our final goodbye 4 days later, he was with us for the whole safari, such a priceless part of the experience, getting to know Nickson, and everything he shared with us about his culture and his life there, not to mention his endless knowledge of the animals and the conservancy. I loved the way the guides all worked like a very close community, sharing tips on where the animals were and the total respect they had for the animals. What can I say about the animals, so hard to put into words - the beautiful sunrise setting in the mornings followed by a viewing of a sleeping lioness with her cubs, exhausted after her night's work, but playing and cuddling her beautiful cubs before taking cover for the day, that was usually all within our first hour of being out... it was hard to maintain such amazing experiences but Nickson always managed to surprise us...
There were quite a few tears when we took off from Encounter Mara on our last day, I think we all recognised this was a very very special experience, that none of us will ever forget and it wasn't just about the animals but the amazing proud warm hearted Kenyans we had met who were so generous in everything they shared with us.”

“An amazing hotel!!!!
Staff were just lovely and attentive, it can be difficult in big hotels that offer AIP to deliver a personalised experience, but Lux Grand Gaube does this so well. The staff are so attentive and engaging and really eager to deliver a fabulous service and so genuinely interested in the guests, we felt spoilt from the first night we arrived and received the warmest of welcomes to our final very sad goodbye.
The choice of restaurants and the standard of food was second to none, we loved all the restaurants on site and so much choice. Access to the watersports was brilliant, just so easy to arrange snorkelling and water skiing. The beach was fabulous and even though the hotel was at full capacity, you would never know, no queuing for bars, restaurants, and plenty of space at the beach and pool.
We had so many add-on experiences that really made our stay feel so special, the private movie experience, the trip to le Deux Coco, and the pizza-making lunch. We felt completely spoilt every day of our stay. Staff were just so attentive and just too friendly and always engaging.
A special mention to a few of the staff... there were so many who made it amazing:
- Ludovick & Alexander in entertainment, always engaging with our kids and they had a hard job with our teenagers, but that didn't stop them
- Baton Rouge: David provided just amazing service
- Veemal who worked breakfast and dinner at the buffet a few nights we were there and moved like lightening, my wine glass was never empty!
- Avish at Bordrum, who served us the most fabulous meal and was so entertaining, we also got a chance to meet the lovely chef Bilal who made the fabulous meal and who took the time to come and chat to us
-Ritesh who was the chef who tried his best to show us to be pizza chefs... hard to keep up with his talent and perfection
-Lastly dinner at Creole Smokehouse on Tues 26th, the staff made us feel like royalty such a special night in a gorgeous setting with fabulous music just annoyed I didn't get their names”

“There is not enough space or stars here to rate how highly Caroline is at her job. From our first enquiry until the day we returned from our holiday, she was on hand all of the time with her knowledge and expertise to make sure we have the most amazing holiday ever.
She listened to what we wanted from the holiday and tailored and crafted the most amazing family holiday experience and was so attentive to every request or query we had. She went above and beyond what I would expect from any tour operator in every interaction and request we had with her. She had so much knowledge of the locations we travelled to, that was obvious from the first conversation I had with her, having been in touch with a couple of other operators beforehand, Caroline stood out right away and always over delivered on everything we asked for.
I really hope this is not the last holiday we get to do with Caroline, she is a total superstar!!!!!”
