Honeymoon to Kenya & Tanzania

We cannot begin to capture in words how incredible our honeymoon was... and that was all down to the incredible organisation and support shown to us by Mahlatini, but specifically by our incredible advisor Nikki McGreevy. Starting in Kenya with a safari at Kichwa Tembo followed by 5 days at The Residence in Zanzibar, we came back to the UK feeling spoiled, pampered and over the moon. We have created life-long memories that we will forever be grateful for!

“Hands down the best experience we have ever had. Not only was the safari incredible, but the camp was stupendous, the service was out of this world and we have been able to create unforgettable memories. Our safari guide Isaac was so knowledgeable and friendly, our main waiter Jeremiah could not have been more attentive, and our tent 'host'/butler Josephat was so welcoming, always leaving us the most wonderful surprises and gifts in our room. The food was delicious as well!
The only thing that may not have been worth the price were the massages. Also, the trip to the Maasai village turned out to be very expensive.”
The Residence Zanzibar
“Our experience at The Residence unfortunately started off on the wrong foot. Due to some payment errors in their systems, they could not see that Mahlatini's payment had come through and therefore made us wait 2 hours before allowing us to check in. A few other comments on the overall stay:
- They were unaware we were there on our honeymoon
- The first evening was "Italian night" with really poorly prepared food (we showed a photo of the pizzas being served to the manager, who was shocked by the standards as well)
- The resort is at the end of an incredibly long and winding dirt road that takes 20-25 minutes to drive down, making it difficult to arrange daily activities outside of the hotel
- The staff (mainly by the pool and in the restaurant) were not friendly in any way!
However, despite the above, once we shared this feedback with the manager they offered us a free dolphin boat trip and a free 45-minute massage which was lovely. The resort is beautiful and the beach is unique!”

We originally were due to get married in August 2020, and head off on our honeymoon a few days after. Unfortunately, COVID hit which meant we ended up having to postpone twice. Throughout all of these changes, the ups and downs, and ongoing difficulties, Nikki worked with us to ensure the holiday would go ahead as planned. She was so lovely and patient and we are so grateful to have gotten to know her over the years!
The highlight of the whole experience was our stay at Kichwa Tembo - truly a magnificent safari camp with the loveliest, kindest people we have ever met. The organisation of the trip was excellent and everything went very smoothly. Thanks Mahlatini for a wonderful trip!”
