Solo Trip to Kenya
Cheryl Weinberg, 18th February 2023This trip was at the top of my "bucket list" so I had high expectations...and this adventure met them! I found the people in Kenya to be so warm and welcoming. My biggest hope was to be immersed in nature and the local culture and this goal was met on all accounts. I'm still processing all that I experienced.

“I loved the setup and decor. My arrival again was warm and welcoming. I liked the exhibition of the Maasai dance and songs. The grounds and vegetable garden were lovely. I enjoyed seeing the resident warthogs and mongoose walking around. My room was so spacious and well-appointed. I liked the passthrough for morning coffee, it was a nice setup.
The reason I didn't give this camp 5 stars is because of the food. I prefer a plated dinner rather than a buffet, and that isn't a criticism, just a preference. What I didn't like was that the proteins, other than chicken, were consistently of inferior quality. The beef, lamb and pork were either fatty, chewy or overcooked - so they were all inedible. Also, since the setup was outdoors (although undercover) the salad bar had flies all over it, which was quite unappealing.”

“My dealings were with Stuart Hall who had planned my son and daughter-in-law's honeymoon trip last August. On their recommendation, I contacted him. We had quite a long first conversation during which I told Stuart what I was hoping to experience during my first safari. A concern of mine, because I was a solo traveller, was that I didn't feel "lost" or uncomfortable. Stuart assured me that I would never be left to my own devices and would be well looked after from the moment I landed in Nairobi until I left. That is exactly what happened. I never felt unsafe, uncomfortable or uncared for.
After listening attentively during our conversation, he planned an itinerary for me. With a few tweaks (and a schedule change due to international flight scheduling) my itinerary was set. Stuart was always available to answer all my questions either by email or phone chats. I would recommend Mahlatini Luxury Travel, and Stuart specifically, to any of my friends or family who are planning a safari trip.”
