Donna & Donald -Debborah Kaitz Group Trip, 1st June 2024
Overall Rating:

Truly a magical experience. A bucket-list trip that didn’t disappoint.

Accommodation Visited

Tamarind Tree Hotel

“The hotel was fine with a great location. We arrived very late and did not have any issues checking in.”

Elewana Tortilis Camp

“We were kindly greeted at the airstrip and it wasn’t long before we spotted pink flamingos, elephants and zebras! All the staff was attentive and the guides were amazing (this is a recurring theme). Accommodations were quite nice and the food was top-notch. Being on a private reserve and being able to explore made a huge difference in viewing the wildlife.”

Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp

“I would rate this more of a 4.5. I wanted to differentiate this from the other camps solely based on the staff. It just seemed that the wait staff were not quite as in sync as at the other two camps we stayed at. I would say that this was the more “luxurious” of the three, with a great view from our deck and two infinity pools. The guides were amazing. We were able to see the rhinos, and we were pleasantly surprised to see a leopard! We were watching the hippos when suddenly this leopard casually walked by. Wonderful!”

Elewana Elephant Pepper Camp

“Since this camp did not have any fencing around, it added another element to this adventure! I really enjoyed this camp, between all the wildlife, the amazing food, and the phenomenal staff, this was the perfect camp to wrap up our safari. Not to sound redundant, but the guides were great, and so knowledgeable (they all were). The entire staff was top-notch. We thought we would miss having a pool but we did not.”

Breezes Beach Club & Spa

“For a resort that markets itself as luxurious, it misses in a few areas. In no particular order: no robes or slippers, no hair conditioner (which is a must at the beach), and the shampoo wasn’t great either. There were no moisturizers, and the WiFi wasn’t great. The hair dryer is hard-wired to the wall in the main living/sleeping area, which is odd. The cord was fairly short, and I had to move the lamp to get a better view in the mirror.

The key is attached to a good-sized wooden “key chain,” which is hard to stash away if you want to hang out at the beach or pool. The beach wasn’t great, and water shoes are recommended. Personally, I would have preferred to stay at a better location for four nights. I do understand we were pretty focused on the price, though, and this is a “me” thing.

The food was good but not as good as at the camps; I do think we were spoiled there, as that food was fantastic! The staff was really good, friendly, and very accommodating. The on-site dive center is a plus.”

Staff Review

“Natasha was very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. She knows and understands the nuances of planning a safari.”
