vacation to Kenya & Mauritius
Anonymous, 21st May 2024Words cannot describe how amazing this trip was. Mahlatini was able to make our dream honeymoon a reality. It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, with seamless travel arrangements throughout the entire trip.
Accommodation Visited
Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp
“When we think of our honeymoon, our stay at Kichwa Tembo is the first thing that comes to mind. The entire staff was so warm and friendly, and the Maasai Mara is one of the most magical places on Earth. Although we went during the low-peak season in May, our guide, Sheera, went above and beyond to ensure we saw the beauty of the entire reserve, including sightings of all the Big Five animals! We would certainly recommend Kichwa Tembo to other adventure seekers 10 out of 10 times, and we hope to return one day to witness the wonder of the great migration.”
Giraffe Manor
“Hands down one of the most worldly places on Earth, as our stay at Giraffe Manor truly made my wife’s dreams become a reality. The uniqueness of the giraffe interactions and the beauty of the manor itself is one of a kind, that will certainly leave you speechless.
Our only regret was having to leave early in the morning (5am), so we were unable to partake in the iconic breakfast giraffe feedings. We are appreciative of Mahlatini squeezing this into our itinerary, as initially there were no bookings available.”
LUX* Grand Gaube
“An absolutely beautiful and relaxing place. We did however experience rainy weather for roughly half our 4-day stay (which we knew was a potential risk, given the time of year).”
Staff Review
“Karen was super helpful and responsive and also guided us to the most budget-friendly, value-based options. Looking back, the only things we would have reconsidered for our trip are:
1) Staying at Giraffe Manor long enough for breakfast in the morning.
2) Exploring other potential beach destinations that were either closer to the U.S. or had better odds for good weather.
The travel itself was nearly flawless, which made the trip very enjoyable. However, the only thing we were not aware of was that when returning to Nairobi airport, all passengers must get out of the vehicle at the checkpoint and walk through an X-ray scanner in a separate building (leaving all belongings in the car).”
