vacation to Tanzania
Nour Basma, 15th July 2025When we had our first call with Caroline, we chatted with her about having a different experience for our honeymoon that included a mix of adventure and relaxation, excitement and serenity, and privacy after a long week of busy wedding events, and she absolutely delivered. It was our first trip to the African continent, our first safari and first time experiencing the beauty of the waters in Zanzibar, and we will definitely be back to explore more of the continent in the future. It was the honeymoon we imagined long before we even started planning for the trip!
Accommodation Visited
Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp
“We have stayed at different properties and hotels in the past few years, but nothing compares to our stay at the Migration Camp. The team at the camp was extremely attentive - every member of the staff knew our schedule, what we enjoyed doing and catered to that to the dot. We were always welcomed by the GM or AGM, our guide was an expert on the park, our butler memorized our preferences from our very first meal and our tent keeper made sure our room was always perfect. This is the first time in a long time we have nothing to say on how the experience at the camp could be better, as it was absolutely perfect.”
Elewana Kilindi Zanzibar
“Coming from Migration Camp, our expectations were very high for the second Elewana property we were staying at. Upon arrival, the team made our check-in experience seamless and already knew who had attended to us at the camp, which led to some lovely conversations.
The property was breathtaking, with stunning views of the ocean, and quite unique, thanks to the open-bathroom concept! This meant keeping an eye out at night, as we had some resident monkeys and a baby bushbuck near the villa. 😄
The overall experience was fantastic, especially thanks to our butler and villa host, who did an incredible job curating different experiences for us each day. It was the perfect balance of relaxation for our honeymoon.
Our only feedback pertains to our last day at Kilindi. We had originally requested a late checkout (12pm, as is standard in most hotels), but this was not granted due to an early check-in by guests arriving to our room. It would have been ideal if both parties could have been accommodated, rather than asking us to pack up and move to another villa for just two hours. (That said, we do appreciate being given access to a different villa.)
Additionally, our car transfer to the airport was 30 minutes late. The driver was on his phone throughout the journey and lacked basic hygiene - quite a contrast from our arrival experience, where the driver was punctual, engaging, and shared wonderful insights about the city’s culture and history.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience, aside from the last few hours.”

She was quite attentive, took each of our requests into consideration and with those developed an incredible itinerary for our honeymoon.
