“Madikwe Safari Lodge was amazing. The staff (other than the general manager Pieter, who was terrible), was amazing. They made us feel at home in the hotel and took great care to make sure my wife was comfortable throughout her stay and her safaris given her pregnancy. The game viewing was spectacular. We save Lions (including cubs ranging from a few months to a 18 months), lots of rhinos, elephants (including baby elephants), buffalo, wild dogs etc. Our ranger, Billy, was incredibly knowledgeable and really did everything he could to make sure our game drives were a success. The food is also outstanding. My wife and I are both vegetarians and they made special meals for us that were by and large excellent.”

More Quarters Apartment Hotel

“More Quarters Apartment Hotel exceeded our expectations. It is a four star hotel but the staff there operate like a five star and we found the service there to be almost on par with our stay at Cape Grace and well above our stay at the Taj Cape Town (both five star hotels). The rooms at More Quarters Apartment Hotel are also very nice- they are large and spacious and include a mini-kitchen. The location is great- surrounded by restaurants and different night clubs.”

“Cape Grace was everything a luxury hotel should be. The staff greeted us by name and made sure every need we had was met. The Concierge, especially Liezel, were very helpful and took great time in making recommendations and arrangements for us. When they realized we were on a baby moon, the receptionists who checked us in sent a number of little toys and clothes for our little one- it was very nice and unexpected. I would definitely recommend this hotel.”

River Manor Boutique Hotel & Spa

“DO NOT STAY HERE! Other than the bell man, the service was terrible and the rooms are old and outdated. Also and most importantly, the location is TERRIBLE! Contrary to what is on the website, it is not near any wineries- the closes ones are a good 10-15 minute drive away. This was the one (and only one) recommendation that we thought was off-the-mark. I would not recommend this hotel in any circumstance.”

“This place is heaven. The lodges are incredible and the service is unmatched. We stayed at a forest lodge and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, quiet place to get away. The hotel staff is incredible. Ask for Ermelo and Princess- they are both amazing and took great care of us. We will definitely be going back.”
