Holiday to South Africa & Mauritius
Amanda Blunden & Richard Yearley, 20th December 2014Whole holiday was fantastic and exceeded expectations. Couple of minor points to note 1. despite checking in to the flights on line 24 hours beforehand we weren't seated together on either of the outbound flights. They managed to sort out the first flight but we were seated one behind the other on the second flight and they stated the was nothing they could do about it. Given we booked in Feb and paid for the flights in July this was very disappointing. The directions to each of the hotels which came from you were not from A to B to C but rather from A to B, A to C etc. Fortunately we were given better directions by the rep in Cape Town but you might want to review this.

“really beautiful country. Very safe and much more sophisticated than we expected. Hotels were excellent and food was best I have ever experienced. Drinks etc were all very cheap (courtesy of the exchange rate) People were wonderful and the staff in all of the hotels were welcoming, friendly and couldn't do enough for us, with lots of special touches. We both loved it.”

“We were very lazy (after South Africa!) so didn't see much of the country but what we saw was beautiful and the hotel was perfect end to the holiday”

“great hotel, incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Room was large and airy and very clean, Location was great, easy access to everything we needed. Breakfasts were good and the manager gave us lots of tips for places to visit and eat , and was interested to hear what we had been up to. overall an excellent start to the holiday”
The Lanzerac Hotel & Spa
“Very smart hotel. Christmas Day dinner was amazing. very low key Christmas which suited us well but if people were looking for Christmas carols etc they would be disappointed!! Very professional friendly staff and lovely bedroom and public rooms. Could probably have spent longer here to get more from the area.”
“Perfect and so beautiful. Lovely touches such as the welcome and them lighting our wood burning stove in our room when we returned back cold after the shark cage diving. Room was stunning as was food. Lovely friendly staff (yet again)”

“Very nice hotel with yet another lovely room with great sea views (even saw dolphins from our bed!) Food was good but not as good as Lanzerac or Grootbos and the welcome wasn't as personal. However good location. Could probably have stayed in this area for longer cos so much to do”
Bayethe Tented Lodge, Shamwari Private Game Reserve
“This place was amazing ... Everything was absolutely perfect. The 'room' was fantastic, very private and the main lodge was beautiful. Food was interesting and excellent. The game drives were brilliant, the ranger was very well informed and the sightings were first class. The whole place was really friendly and engendered a really friendly environment between guests and staff. It was a very early start when we left but again we were well looked after and even give a 'packed breakfast' to take with us!”
Paradise Cove Boutique Hotel
“Hotel position was great and the public areas were lovely. The room was a little disappointing but then again we had been spoilt in South Africa! Similarly the food wasn't particularly inspiring except in The Cove restaurant where it was excellent. Staff were plentiful and very friendly and helpful.
We were bombarded with information about what we were and were not entitled to as part of the all inclusive package when we first arrived which seemed very prescriptive (and again so different to outh Africa). Nevertheless it was a perfect relaxing end to our holiday and gave us time to reflect before going back to work.
One point . mauritours (the agent) were disappointing. They weren't waiting for us at the airport, we had to find them. The rep was 1 1/2 hours late for our welcome meeting and I had to phone them to find out the pick up details.”

“Nikki was very professional and friendly and we quickly built a great rapport. She worked really hard to get us into the hotels she had chosen .. And her choices were perfect. She gave us choices over flights etc and the information we needed to make the decispns we needed to make. She always returned calls and emails and when she wasn't available other staff members were able to deal efficiently with my questions /queries. overall my impressed with her knowledge and perseverance.”
