Lake Duluti Lodge
“Not there very long, but no complaints. Very pretty and the breakfast was above average. We liked the individual secluded accommodations.”
The Plantation Lodge
“The grounds were beautiful. The room was very good as well. The dinner's were particularly noteworthy because of the high quality and well prepared food.”
Mwiba Lodge
“I couldn't give the other locations 5's because Mwiba was a step above in every way. We have been fortunate enough to stay in a few 5 star resorts but Mwiba topped them all. I can't come up with enough positive adjectives. Everything was first rate without a detail missed. Don't know how it was accomplished in such a remote location but the food was truly fine dining. Great wine. The sunset's with cocktails and snacks were truly memorable. In spite of all of the luxury the atmosphere was friendly and comfortable; not stiff and stuffy. Although, in the end without the people it doesn't hit the "adjectives can't properly describe it" category. Jen, Benjamin and Robin were first rate in all ways (as was the entire staff) and we will remember them fondly for a long, long time. We sincerely thank them and greatly appreciate all of their efforts and hard work.
Lastly, can't forget the animals. Not sure if it's always the case but at Mwiba we were fortunate enough to see lions, a leopard, cheetah with babies, elephant's, giraffe's, wildebeest, zebra's, warthogs, various antelope species, turtles, varied birds, buffalo, baboons, etc., etc., etc.”
The Residence Zanzibar
“Beautiful location and accommodations. Loved the "individual" pools. Food was good although not as good as on most of the trip. Customer service and communication was somewhat lacking at this location.”
Zanzibar Palace Hotel
“What a great little boutique hotel! Frans was a pleasure. His staff was well trained and very sweet and accommodating. The food in their little restaurant was surprisingly good. This helped take some of the sting out of an otherwise less than ideal situation. For someone from the US it was comforting to have someone who you were sure 100% communication was taking place with during the unexpected extended part of our stay.”

“From start to finish Donna and all were fabulous! The help from Donna and Nikki while unexpectedly stranded in Zanzibar helped tremendously. I can't express enough our thanks for their help!!! Technology and communication at the Zanzibar airport leave something to be desired, so knowing we had someone helping from afar reduced our stress and worry considerably. We would recommend Donna without hesitation.
I hate to complain at all because everything was so nice; but even though the foreign exchange problem was our fault, the instructions could possibly contain a little more detailed explanation and warning that it is possible to mess it up like we did.”
