Holiday to South Africa
Mr Bill Woodcock, 13th January 2011Highlights: Our arrival at Southbroom 6 rounds of golf in the first 8 days. The whole Zulu Battlefield experience. Night Safari at S. Lucia
Accommodation Visited
Fugitives Drift Lodge
“Like a house party. Guides were superb. Well worth the hair raising drive along rough roads to get there ( We did manage to get lost but were "talked down on our mobiles" back to where we should have been).
Thought the recommended wine at dinner was a little expensive compared with everywhere else but then again delivering it would not have been easy !”
“The accommodation is different ( especially the roof )but very comfortable. The reception staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. They managed to fill our days and evenings very easily !”
“A poor man's Zulu Disneyland.
The accommodation was not ready when we arrived. It did not have electricity or water when we arrived and was nothing like the photo in the brochure.
After two hours we did get what we wanted but would not recommend to anyone.
If there is such a thing as the opposite of a highlight, this was it. ( The pits ? )”
“Our first accommodation. Excellent greeting. As we were late and did not want to eat, we were given a bottle of wine to enjoy on the balcony.
Nothing was too much trouble for them.
Excellent location. Definitely sleepy hollow. Not a lot to do other than play golf.”
“Felt like royalty ( or at least a president). Well looked after. Room was the most spacious, especially the batroom. Breakfast and dinner was excellent.
Even sorted out our laptop.”
“Great location. Was actually nice not to be staying where we played golf.
Enjoyed the full board, which we hadn't expected, including afternoon tea.
The staff were very helpful in getting us directions to Fugitive's drift.”
Staff Review
“Excellent. Could not have been better.
Very informative. Answered all our questions before we went.
Everything that we expected we got ( Apart from one minor exception in Shakaland )”
