vacation to Namibia
Tracy & Malcolm Fick, 13th March 2017It was an incredible bucket list holiday. Very well organised and the people we encountered at the lodges were just amazing. Sadly Etosha is becoming run down and very badly organised. There is talk of poaching and snares around the main waterholes and the camps are not great to stay in. The staff at the Etosha gates are rude and surley. The government need to do something quickly as they are losing an incredible park. Apparently letter have been written News paper articles have been written but to no avail and it is all falling on deaf ears !!!!!!! I cannot recommend that anyone stay inside the park. Rather drive through and stay at the camps on the perimeters or do day trips in.

Olive Grove Guesthouse
“Maintenance is very poor and the B & B in the leafy suburbs is not totally true. Very noisy and lots of dogs barking because I think security is an issue sadly. Okay stay for
one night but think there must be better options. Downstairs room which was requested is dark dingy and the bathroom was in shocking condition. When we requested a move we were told that there were no other rooms. This was not true as the adjoining rooms were still empty the next morning. Not a great start”

Desert Rhino Camp
“I give it 4 only for one reason. The drive from the pick up to the camp is very long and the drive is over rocks. I would definitely do a fly in.”

“very pretty quite a stiff climb up the hill to the main lodge for older people but very nice”
“Sad it is going downhill fast. No management what so ever and it is very run down. Couldn't get diesel the tanks were empty and no one knew when it was going to be replenished. Tricky if you are travelling through and reliant on it. Restaurant yuk. The staff at the parks entrance very rude and not helpful at all.
Would not go back unless I stayed at one of the camps on the perimeter and out of the park. I was very upset by the change as six years ago it was beyond awesome”
