Lake Kivu Serena Hotel is set on the sandy banks of Lake Kivu just outside of Gisenyi. With the Virunga Volcanoes providing a charming backdrop, the hotel boasts a private beach, excellent facilities and is surrounded by lush tropical gardens. The property is around a 20-minute flight from Kigali International Airport followed by a short car journey and is also close enough to the Volcanoes National Park to act as a comfortable rest stop after gorilla trekking. Lake Kivu is vast and the 6th largest lake in Africa, as such it is an excellent playground for water-based activities, with fishing and boating on offer.

The hotel provides a choice of 66 rooms and luxury suites. There is also a good restaurant, that boasts al fresco dining and stunning panoramas, a swimming pool and a health center offering various treatments.
