Situated on the north-west coast of La Digue, Le Domaine de L'Orangeraie is a lovely boutique hideaway set in gorgeous tropical gardens. It's the perfect choice for couples, particularly honeymooners, looking for a relaxed Seychelles holiday that's close to nature. The larger rooms (villas) have been individually designed and carefully built 'into' the hillside; this means none are identical. Interiors offer chic decor with much use of local wood and most having an open bathroom and terrace. Garden rooms have a bright modern decor.
If you can tear yourself away from the fabulous infinity pool and deck, it's worth hiring a bicycle (the island's main form of transport) to explore the many sights of La Digue and see how 'Seychelles life used to be'. The island is renowned for its beaches; Anse Source d'Argent is often listed on the top 10 most beautiful in the world, while further afield on the east coast, Anse Marron is spectacular.
Dining is a delight at Le Domaine de L'Orangeraie. The open-sided 'Combava' restauarant, set on a raised deck beside the main pool, offers all day a la carte menus. 'Santosha' restaurant serves breakfast, international themed buffets and live cooking stations, as well as views to Praslin. Nightly music is offered at the 'L'Alambic' bar. However, the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail while capturing a magical sunset is at the infinity pool bar; relax in a sun lounger or stay in the pool and use the swim-up seats!
