Gondwana Family Lodge is situated in the Sanbona Reserve, the first free roaming Big 5 wildlife and nature reserve in the Western Cape. In the heart of the Little Karoo, it offers endless open plains and sculpted Cape fold mountains adorned with San rock art, endemic flora and some of South Africa’s most sought-after wildlife. Gondwana Family Lodge is one of 3 lodges on the reserve. It is the perfect sanctuary for family, friends, and groups.
Gondwana Family Lodge has magnificent views of the Anysberg Mountains, and it overlooks the Bellair Dam. It’s a spacious thatched Lodge with interconnecting rooms, indoor and outdoor play areas, and a child-friendly pool. 6 of the suites are located on the ground floor with a private deck and 6 are located on the second level with a private balcony/viewing platform. They all have air-conditioning and under-floor heating. The main lodge area has a lounge, gift boutique, open-air boma and relaxation retreat with a steam room. Activities include game drives, nature walks, stargazing and storytelling. A children’s program offers educational and recreational wildlife experiences.

Holiday to Sanbona Gondwana Family Lodge
Some of the activities (birding, hikes, rock art) were not available while we were there. This was a bit disappointing as we were looking forward to those.
Drives were great and the guide was very knowledgeable.
