Makanyi Private Game Lodge is a homely, 5-star, family-owned safari lodge situated in the open, acacia woodlands of the southern Timbavati Private Game Reserve in the Greater Kruger Park. There are just 7 luxury suites (plus a 2-bedroom Marula Suite) overlooking a permanent waterhole. With traversing rights to over 8000 hectares of private concessions, it’s a very private safari experience.
Every one of the 7 suites overlooks the dam and comes with an extra-large bed, a relaxing sitting area, a beautiful bathroom with a spacious shower and separate bathtub, a private deck with loungers and an outdoor shower. 2 of these rooms are luxury pool suites, which offer more privacy as well as a private plunge pool on the deck. The Marula Suite is a 2-bedroomed suite which sleeps a maximum of 4 guests making it ideal for families or friends travelling together. The Main Lodge is a perfect haven for relaxation with its swimming pool, loungers, bar, and lounge. Dining will be anything from an intimate candlelit dinner, a Boma night under the stars, a bush picnic, or a romantic dinner in the privacy of your room.

The highlight of our trip. We saw the Big 5, the rooms and accommodations were 5-star, the food was incredible, the staff was super helpful and knowledgeable, and we really enjoyed that it was not crowded. Privacy was great.
