MalaMala Camp is the original camp on the MalaMala Game Reserve, the safari industry’s blueprint for the luxury photographic safari. In existence since 1927, the reserve offers a truly outstanding wildlife experience. It has an unfenced boundary with the world-renowned Kruger National Park. Whilst preserving the history and soul of this iconic camp, it has recently been reimagined with a more contemporary edge.
Set on the banks of the Sand River, the camp is surrounded by lush greenery and blends well with the landscape, so much so wildlife has been known to pass close to the property. There are 10 luxury suites, 8 luxury rooms and a luxury single suite. Each room has a private deck or verandah with a view over the Sand River or a waterhole. In the main area you will find an inviting lounge, an African themed air-conditioned dining room and the iconic Buffalo Bar featuring historic photographs of the early days of MalaMala. You will eat your delicious meals either on the wooden safari deck or in the traditional reed ‘boma’ around the fire. During your downtime between safari activities, you can swim in the infinity pool, have a massage, or hit the gym.

AGAIN SO AMAZING. Would have liked to get an extra night here, if we had the chance to do it again. The people were so kind, the food was amazing, and the game drives were unreal.
Beautiful camp lodge with fireplace. Accommodations worked well for the three of us. The animals weren't as abundant as in Kwara camp, but had quality sightings. The bar and food were excellent. Staff very gracious. Not as authentic a feeling as Kwara Camp, but an overall excellent experience.
