Lidiko Lodge
A 4-star lodge in the village of St Lucia in KwaZulu Natal, Lidiko Lodge is surrounded by the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park ("iSimangaliso Wetland Park"), an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The lodge is set above the Great St Lucia Lake, on a coastal dune and offers 16 garden rooms, of which 12 are standard rooms, and 3 are family rooms.
The thatched main area of the lodge was one of the fist buildings to erected in St Lucia and it oozes and Old-World Zululand charm. Here is housed the reception area, guest lounge, a small library, as well as the dining deck with views of the gardens, very often filled with birds, monkeys and mongoose. This park-like garden and its outdoor lounge is ideal for bird watching, conversation or just to enjoy quiet time. The pool is ideal to cool off in or to do some sun soaking on the loungers around the pool.
The lodge is very centrally located within St Lucia, it's only a 5-minute walk from the restaurants, craft markets, walking trails and main attractions. It is also an ideal place from which to visit the surrounding wetlands and pristine beaches. St Lucia is the only known village where hippos roam the streets at night!
