La Residence is arguably the most luxurious hotel in Franschhoek. Think a modern day Versailles intermingled with a Rajasthani palace. Plum orchards and beautiful vineyards with a stunning mountain backdrop provide the surroundings of this 30 acre private estate. The decor is certainly memorable everywhere the eye comes to rest there's a Persian rug, exotic antique, fine art work or sparkling Indian chandelier.
The hotel offers 11 suites and 5 luxury villas, all with their own unique personalities. Dining takes place in the black and white tiled reception room which doubles as a dining room opening out onto the veranda. At night surrounded by candlelit a sommelier will help you match wine from La Residence's cellar to the daily changing set menu of seasonal, local produce. Facilities include a spa, a swimming pool with a great view (plus another pool for the Vineyard Suites) and a gym.
