Songa Migrational Camp is a seasonal migration camp that moves twice a year, strategically positioning itself to follow the path of the Great Migration. This seasonal positioning offers the chance to experience two distinct and spectacular locations within the Serengeti ecosystem. In the north, Songa is located among the hilly outcrops of the Kogatende region, offering front-row access to the dramatic Mara River crossings, typically occurring between July and October. In the south, the camp is set within Maswa Game Reserve—an exclusive-use, wildlife-protected area bordering the southern Serengeti. Here, enjoy rare, crowd-free access to the calving season on the expansive short grass plains, a time of incredible wildlife activity and predator interaction.
The camp features eight en-suite tents and one family tent with two bedrooms and a shared lounge. Multiple shared lounge areas and both indoor and outdoor dining spaces create a relaxed, social atmosphere. Songa can be booked in its entirety or divided into two separate, self-contained sections, creating a “camp within a camp” experience. During the southern season, one half operates as a private camp featuring two rooms and one family suite. The other half includes eight rooms and an additional family suite. Each side has its own dedicated lounge and dining tents, ensuring maximum privacy and exclusivity. Activities include guided game drives, full-day safaris, walking safari and cultural experiences with local communities. With your own private guide and safari vehicle, you’ll have the freedom to explore the Serengeti at your own pace, with flexibility and intimacy at the heart of the experience.
