Elewana Tarangire Treetops is a unique lodge comprising of 20 treehouse suites with views over the tops of surrounding marula and baobab trees. The lodge is set within a community wildlife area bordering the Tarangire National Park and is on the path of an annual elephant migration. This vast area offers an array of game including tree-climbing lions and over 550 bird species. A stay here is a nostalgic nod to childhood adventures in treehouses. The rooms themselves are amongst the largest in East Africa with a floor space of 65 square meters.
Each Treetop Suite is lavishly furnished. Natural materials are blended with Africana décor. Each is open-fronted, with an expansive balcony affording views across the Tarangire’s magical landscape.
The main lodge encases an impressive thousand-year-old baobab tree. There’s a spacious dining room, reception, and lounge overlooking a swimming pool and waterhole that sees a steady flow of wildlife. Dining can either be a lantern-lit dinner in a traditional Boma echoing to the sounds of Maasai chants or eating poolside whilst a wealth of wildlife comes to drink at the Lodge water hole. Being located outside the national park also allows for night drives and walking safaris, in addition to day drives within the natural park and the Wildlife Management Area. Between the activities, there’s the chance to visit a local Maasai village or you can simply relax by the pool.

It was absolutely amazing, our guide was perfect and the people there were great. The food was amazing, and we loved seeing the village and enjoying in there culture.
Awesome wildlife viewing. We heard lions every night. Never saw them there. Learned that you are most likely only going to see specific wildlife in areas. A herd of elephants was under our tree tops all time. Not a problem! Very cool.
Dinner in the boma and the Maasai dancing was spectacular. The bats in the baobab tree were fabulous. Clay, the manager, went out of his way to help me with an issue I was having with my bank.
