Chindeni Bush Camp

A stunningly beautiful tented camp in the South Luangwa, Chindeni Bush Camp has an enviable location on the edge of a lagoon where hippo and elephant wallow. Sleeping under canvas ignites a sense of adventure and at Chindeni you can combine that thrill with style and comfort in one of its four opulent tents.

The tents have stripped wooden floors, four-poster beds, cosy sitting rooms, en suite bathrooms and vaulted canvas ceilings. Each has a private deck jutting out over the lagoon from which you can see an abundance of wildlife without leaving your room! Two of the tents have twin beds (queen-sized beds) and two have doubles (king-sized bed).

Settle back with a gin and tonic in the central lounge and dining area - an expanse of varnished decking around the surrounding ebony trees, boasting spectacular views of the serene lagoon and its inhabitants. Chindeni is open from May to December. The camp is powered by solar power and limited charging facilities are available.

Getting There

Fly into Mfuwe International Airport from Livingstone (4 hours with a stopover) or Lusaka (1 hr 10 min). Drive to Mfuwe Lodge in the park (45 min) for refreshments before travelling to Kapamba Bushcamp which is approximately a 2.5 hrs at game viewing speed.

Activities

Walking safaris, game drives, night drives and scenic sundowner trips in the surrounding area. Or you can just park yourself in a deckchair at camp and watch the abundance of game that is drawn to the lagoon.

Again a good service the guides had fantastic knowledge, a mixture of walking and driving safari. Managed to see everything except the wild dogs. The guides certainly knew their patch Accommodation opposite water, a little more game here.
